Intown2.com is an innovative web based members club for travellers that provides a way of automatically telling them when their travel schedule puts them in the same city on the same date as a friend.

With a simple city-dates entry format Intown2 makes it easy for travellers to share their schedule securely and selectively with family and friends, once again increasing the chances of being able to meet up somewhere or just to let them know where one is. Matching only takes place with those on your Friends List or if you wish, with friends of selected friends.  Some unique features are 'home-town matching' and Do-Not-Disturb. Automatic notifications of matches are provided by site message, email or SMS/text message as preferred. 

Intown2 also provides essential information about destinations, such as weather, getting around, local customs and etiquette, things to see & do if time allows and where to find the best restaurants, bars, nightclubs and much more. With the ultra-gregarious in mind 'The Events List' provides the means to meet up and party with friends you may have lost touch with, against the backdrop of major sporting events that you might be attending such as football, rugby, Formula 1 Motor Racing, cricket, sailing etc. In addition you'll find sources of highly useful and sometimes truly off-the-wall information ranging from how to pick the best airline seat and airline food comparisons to international public toilet reviews. 

Intown2 has been created by three global nomads.  Co-founder Hugh McGarry explains, "We all too often found ourselves stuck in hotel rooms or a corner of the coffee shop while travelling on business and were frustrated by the number of times we found, always after the event of course, that friends had been there at the same time. We tried exchanging travel plans with friends but last minute changes and frankly being just too busy made it unworkable; and so last January, in a rooftop bar in Bangkok Intown2 was born". Far from being yet another "networking tool" for the prospect-hungry sales executive or a pick-up site for the predatory, Intown2 is designed for those who already have a network of friends, family and business acquaintances and appreciate the importance of "having a life" while on the road. 

Targeting in particular business and frequent travellers Intown2 is a subscription based service. Revenues are expected to be earned from annual subscriptions and destination-contextual advertising. Future plans for the site include the introduction of additional languages and a portal for the student traveller.
