When property-abroad.com initially launched, the overseas property search offered just a few hundred properties.  Now the site has over 170,000 listings from over 100 countries worldwide and continues to grow daily.  The database is shared with property-abroad.com's satellite sites each dealing with individual countries.

Property-abroad.com is a primary destination for the overseas property buyer or investor.  The site was founded in 2000 and has recently been re-launched by CEO Les Calvert.  

Calvert commented about the site, "Property-abroad.com originally offered reliable information on the overseas property market, which was then receiving a lot of media attention and hyperbole.  As the site gained respect in the community it served, it grew in size and scope and came to be regarded as one of the internet's foremost overseas property information resource.  As a result, property-abroad.com is now in a position to provide a purchaser of holiday property, an investor in apartments or houses for rental or a would-be expatriate with all the information he or she needs, beginning with property listings for countries across the world and taking in legal and financial information for the countries the site covers".

A Buyer's Guide section offers country-specific information on each country, dealing with investment property, apartments and holiday property.  The focus is on practicalities and each section aims to prepare the buyer for that part of the purchase process.  

There's a Resources section dedicated to helping potential buyers on an issue-by issue basis, giving advice on foreign car hire and property insurance, cheap flights and airport parking.  The site aims to equip buyers with information and resources to handle any common problem or query.  The resources include lawyers and solicitors, overseas mortgages, property and travel insurance and removals companies: all the nuts and bolts of your property purchase.

Property-abroad.com has an Estate Agents Directory, showing listings for local agencies from around the world, organized by country.  The benefit is that buyers can communicate with agents directly on the ground in the location they are interested in buying in.  Local agencies can make further recommendations concerning local conditions and regulations too.

Property-abroad.com also has a property news service, with original pieces on recent developments in the world as they relate to the property market, including new regulations and economic and property related news.  There’s also a blog, more tightly focused on the details of property regulations and market trends.
