Meet Tony Kahn, the voice of the Morning Stories podcast, in a series of behind-the-scenes and off-the-cuff videos. The videos range from a mash-up produced by video blogger Steve Garfield, to advice on how to choose podcasts, which side of a CD is “up,” some behind-the-scenes tips on the use of hat mics, and a video viewers are encouraged to incorporate into their own pieces.

New videos are being posted each week through February 16th at http://www.youtube.com/user/morningstories. Got a story of your own or want to hear other people’s stories? Visit http://www.wgbh.org/morningstories.

In the tradition of storytelling on public radio, Morning Stories presents a growing collection of lean-forward-and-listen stories from individuals sharing a wide range of human experiences and emotions. Told in the first person and recounting morsels of everyday life  – quirky, funny, sad, unexpectedly insightful -- Morning Stories air every Tuesday at 7:50am on 89.7, and are available anytime at http://www.wgbh.org/morningstories.

An ongoing project, Morning Stories aims to bring new voices to the air and to foster a sense of community through the sharing of stories from neighbors and colleagues. “Public radio isn’t just a first rate source for music and news,” notes Morning Stories’ creative director and producer Tony Kahn. “It’s our national campfire, where we swap stories about the important personal moments in our lives. As listeners, we get to finish the pictures in our own minds, and make these stories our own.”

About Tony Kahn
Tony Kahn is a broadcast veteran with more than 35 years’ experience in producing, writing, narrating and hosting 60 television and radio programs and series for WGBH Boston, PBS, NPR, Public Radio International, the BBC World Service, A&E, Nickelodeon, Metromedia and ABC.

Most recently, he has been host and special contributor to WGBH’s international daily radio newsmagazine, The World, a panelist on NPR’s weekly quiz show, Says You, and a pioneer in the development of podcasting with his weekly Morning Stories, public radio’s first podcast.
