Actresses From Cult
Horror Film Classic Launch Web Site

| Over the years The Evil Dead and
its sequels became a cult sensation, with thousands of fans and dozens
of Web sites. And all this time the three actresses who starred in the
film remained almost anonymous. This month they launched their own
web site, and they invite you to join them to find out what really happened;
to hear the real stories, here in cyberspace and at live appearances and
events. |

In 1979 a group of current and former
college students from Michigan created a little horror film called "The
Evil Dead" which revolutionized the horror film genre. The director, producer,
and male lead went on to have great careers in the movie business, but
the three women who starred in the film -- Betsy Baker as "Linda," Ellen
Sandweiss as "Cheryl," and Sarah York as "Shelly" -- have remained almost
anonymous.
But now, to coincide with the upcoming
20th anniversary Anchor Bay Entertainment DVD release of ED, they'll be
appearing at reunions and conventions during the coming months, signing
autographs and meeting ED fans all over the country.
Additionally, they've created a new
Web site to help promote
those appearances and to give fans an update on what they've been doing
for the past 20+ years. The URL is http://www.ladiesoftheevildead.com
The Web site features bios of all
three women (with candid comments about the filming), a regularly updated
news page with scheduled show appearances, and links to other related sites.
