TunesTracker,
(http://www.tunestracker.com)
the free tool that alerts you when the iTunes Music Store has new music
of interest to you, has received a major upgrade.
After registering with TunesTracker,
users can enter the names of up to 50 of their favorite musical artists,
composers, and songs. Once a day, TunesTracker checks the iTunes Music
Store for new songs that match those criteria. When there is something
new, TunesTracker sends an e-mail alert listing the vital information about
the new tunes, including the song title, album name, and composer. By clicking
a link, users can open the song in the iTunes Music Store, listen to a
clip, and buy the song.
TunesTracker¹s new features
include:
- Composer and Song Title searches.
In addition to searching by artist name, you can now receive alerts when
the iTunes Music Store adds songs written by favorite composers, or even
when a song with a particular title is added. (This could be useful if
you want to know whenever any band releases a cover of your favorite song.)
- RSS feeds. You can now receive
news about new tunes via an RSS feed instead of (or in addition to) e-mail.
Or, you can bookmark a web page that shows the latest songs that match
your search.
- If you want to see what¹s
new from a particular artist but don¹t want to subscribe to updates,
you can get a list of all searches (http://www.tunestracker.com/latest/artist/)
then click an artist name to see what¹s new from that artist.
- The new iTunes News Roundup
page (http://www.tunestracker.com/news/)
gathers headlines from several iTunes-related blogs, news sources, and
software sites.
TunesTracker
was created by Kevin Savetz, a freelance technology writer who has contributed
to more than 80 publications. (www.savetz.com)
He is also the co-founder of FreeAfterRebate.info (www.freeafterrebate.info),
a shopping Web site devoted to free-after-rebate deals.
