CreditCardReviews.com Provides Credit Card Advice From Real People
CreditCardReviews.com uses a crowd-sourcing model where credit cards are displayed or “ranked” in their respective sections based on the votes or ratings given to them by cardholders and credit card experts.
.
CreditCardReviews.com gives more power to the consumer when shopping for a credit card. The website uses a crowd-sourcing model where credit cards are displayed or “ranked” in their respective sections based on the votes or ratings given to them by cardholders and credit card experts.

“The reality is that decisions about credit card selection are swayed heavily by product placement on credit card shopping sites. The placement of credit cards on personal finance sites is determined in many cases by advertising dollars with the quality of the product playing a lesser role,” says Todd Serpico, Director of User Experience at CreditCardReviews.com. “We believe that card placements based on user ratings and unbiased expert opinion provides for a much more honest and balanced shopping environment. There is so much power given to the site owners in this industry and we think it’s about time to give more back to the people who need it most, the consumers.”

The ranking system allows cardholders to rate their experiences from 1-5 with particular cards. These are given equal weight to the ratings of the CreditCardReviews.com Credit Card Experts who also review them. They are then listed in their sections based on the scores they receive. This is unlike most models where placement decisions are made based on the acquisition bounties provided to the site owners.

There are various other features to aid those in the credit card selection process including side-by-side comparison capabilities as well as a card filtering system where a user can choose to only view cards with historical approval data for a specific credit score. All credit score approval data has been obtained via a partnership with CreditKarma.com.

The only part of the website that does not follow the crowd-sourcing model is the interactive balance transfer calculator, located at

http://www.creditcardreviews.com/balance-transfer-calculator/

Because the single most important element of a balance transfer transaction is the potential interest savings, cards are listed based in the order from most to least potential interest saved. In addition to selecting the best match, the calculator also notifies the user of the required monthly payment to become debt free by the end of the 0% introductory term that is offered for each product.
