Tuesday, March 20, 2001 NewYorker Magazine Moves More Content Online
The New Yorker site ( http://www.newyorker.com ) has made the move from static subscriber sign up to true online content. While you'll still need to buy the print version to get 100% of the content, much of it, including some onlne only content, is available free via the site. The stalwart "Goings On About Town" and "The Talk of the Town" are accessible, but "Around City Hall" is in the print version only. The cartoon link will take you to Cartoonbank.com for you daily fix of dry humor. In this era of budget conscious branding, the New Yorker has garnered rave reviews for its lean and mean repackaging of existing print content (although there are a few articles available online only). .
