ZOOM this month unveiled a new and improved, redesigned Web site at http://pbskids.org/zoom to celebrate the start of its new season on PBS beginning Monday, April 19th. The new look and design, based on feedback gathered from wired ZOOMers, reinforces the show's magazine-style format and expands the site's playful, often wacky “by kids, for kids” world.

What’s new and different...
A new games area, a streamlined submission process to make it even easier to “send it to ZOOM,” more printable activities, cast Q&As, snapshots, and interviews, a behind- the-scenes virtual tour of the ZOOM set, and much, much more. All this AND improved site navigation, brighter colors, and easier access to reader submissions.

And if you’re not sure when ZOOM airs in your world, go straight to “Today on ZOOM,” your daily destination for show times and links to each day’s activities.

For anyone ready to ZOOM with the ZOOMers, the site offers:

• Activities from the Show: Directions to all of the show activities - try them at home.

• New from You: The latest bits of brilliance sent in from ZOOMers 'round the world.

• Cast: Get the scoop on the ZOOMers – past and present.

• Games: Get ‘gamey’ with gizmos and downloads.

• Behind the Scenes: Go inside the ZOOM studio.

• Printables: Activities for printing, grabbing, and taking on the go

• Send it to ZOOM: THE place for kids to send us their ideas

• Search & Help: Got a question? Try our trusty search engine or consult the FAQs, tech help or site map.

ZOOM is a five-time Emmy nominated daily, interactive television series and state-of-the-art web site (pbskids.org/zoom) that challenges five- to eleven-year-olds to “turn off the TV and do it.”  Each 30-minute program features a cast of seven everyday kids playing games, performing plays, tackling science experiments, telling stories, reading poetry, solving brainteasers, whipping up recipes and generally having a good time as they bring to life contributions sent in from viewers across the country.

WGBH Boston produces ZOOM for PBS.  Kate Taylor is executive producer and Kathy Shugrue is series producer. Funding for ZOOM is provided by the National Science Foundation, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations, and public television viewers.

WGBH Boston is America’s preeminent public broadcasting producer, the source of nearly one-third of PBS’s primetime lineup as well as the award-winning children’s series Arthur, Between the Lions, and ZOOM. Under the leadership of vice president Brigid Sullivan, the WGBH children’s lineup leads the field in educational multimedia (including the Web, broadband, and interactive television) and in technologies and services that make media accessible for people with disabilities. WGBH’s current children’s series have been recognized with some of the world’s most prestigious awards, including 10 Emmys, the George Foster Peabody award, three Prix Jeunesse awards, a BAFTA, and more than half a dozen Parents’ Choice awards.  For more information, visit www.wgbh.org., or contact Amy Kunen Zall, Tracy Patterson, or Tsering Yangzom
