information and more in-depth looks at the program's themes. Visitors

Those who wish to put their own hands on history can play a Flash game in which they must devise a spear-throwing strategy for Roman soldiers fighting barbarians, make their way, in Flash, through Rome's Coliseum, tour a Viking war ship, learn about the technology that kept it afloat, and test their ability to arm a knight in the field. "While WARRIOR CHALLENGE Online complements the series, it's designed as an independent project that really provides fresh perspective on the program's content," said Elizabeth Owen, senior producer for Thirteen's Interactive and Broadband department. "We've tried to present these warriors in the context of their daily lives, and the eras in which they lived. Our goal is to have users come away feeling that they have not only stepped inside the worlds of the Romans, knights and Vikings, but that they understand the warriors as historical figures." Beth Hoppe, executive producer of WARRIOR CHALLENGE, added, "The site is a great resource for anyone who wants to learn more after watching. It adds a wonderful new dimension to the seriesone that makes its content, and ultimately the past itself, truly interactive." WARRIOR
