UK Online Marketplace
Aims to Out-Bid Auctions
.
Anyone using the Internet
these days is sure to notice that online auctions are everywhere, but how
many of us stop to think, when we buy that Beanie Baby or sell those CDs,
whether we're getting
the best possible deals by auctioning? TXmart,
the UK's new online marketplace, might make you think again. |

co-founder Murray Davis said "because users are not tied to the
rigid bidding format of an auction, they can control their deals in ways
just not possible at auctions. That enables them to create better deals,
and do deals they can't get anywhere else online." |

UK based TXmart
has this week introduced a range of new facilities for online traders that
can help them get them better deals, and at lower cost. The key to this
is the ability for users to buy or sell multiple item listings in a single
deal.
TXmart
co-founder Murray Davis said "although this is nothing new at mainstream
e-commerce sites like Amazon or BOL, at online auctions it's impossible.
This facility can help buyers do faster, more competitive deals, while
sellers should see a significant cost saving per transaction, aside from
the time and effort they'll save."
Other key changes TXmart
brings to the world of online trading include the ability for users to
control their deals beyond just price. For example, a buyer could offer
to pay in cash if the seller personally delivers the goods, or a seller
might offer an incentive if the buyer purchases a couple of item listings
in a single deal. Murray Davis said "because users are not tied to the
rigid bidding format of an auction, they can control their deals in ways
just not possible at auctions. That enables them to create better deals,
and do deals they can't get anywhere else online."
The site offers a host of other
services including the Safe Deals facility designed to ensure all deals
are conducted safely and securely, and the Trading Problems Service to
assist users if things go wrong with a deal.
Until January 1 2003, TXmart has
waived its item listing fees and success fees (a fee payable by the seller
on successful completion of a deal).
