HearItAgain.net recorded Frank
Black & The Catholics on March 28th, April 19th, and April 23rd in
Chicago, San Francisco, and San Juan Capistrano respectively. According
to founder, Mike Corso, "The response has been incredibly positive.
First and foremost, the fans love it!"
Corso continues, "A review of the bulletin board messages* posted by
the fans confirms that concert goers are extremely enthusiastic and are
ready and willing to support this unique and exciting service."
A collection of customer testimonials has been posted on the HearItAgain.net
web site at:
http://hearitagain.net/page.asp?id=23
Corso adds, "That's not all--the band loves it too. Frank Black
& The Catholics jumped at the opportunity to record for HearItAgain.net
because their fans can hear the band play songs the way they were meant
to be played and heard."
HearItAgain.net is in discussions with several other artists and labels
and will announce its next slate of signings shortly. Artists and bands
are encouraged to contact HearItAgain.net to
discuss whether the service is right for them. Corso concludes, "Our
service may not be for everyone....but it should be."
HearItAgain.net was formed in November 2002 to record and sell live
concerts for delivery via digital download. Launched on April 2,
2003, the company employs a network of engineers
throughout the country to record various live performances. Recordings
are sent to its New York studio for mastering, editing, and encoding to
MP3 and AAC and then uploaded to its secure server for purchase and download.
CDs are also available to those with slow Internet connections. The
company promotes its recordings via a grassroots guerilla marketing strategy
that targets potential customers found on Internet bulletin boards and
mailing lists. HearItAgain.net's mission is to give fans what they want
at an attractive price while, at the same time, putting found money into
the hands of the music industry.
HearItAgain.net was conceived of by 16-year music and new media veteran
Mike Corso. In 1993, Mike was the first independent marketing consultant
hired by the record industry to promote
music via the Internet. Over four years, he was retained by a
dozen major and independent record labels including Elektra, Arista, RCA,
Atlantic, V2, and the Warner Music Group. Corso is also the owner
of Cool Site of the Day, a wildly popular Web destination born in 1994
that features a unique, outstanding web site every day (http://www.coolsiteoftheday.com).
In addition to
overseeing the day-to-day operations of CSotD, Mr. Corso publishes
the Cool Site of the Day weekly newsletter reaching 200,000 readers.
