City of Salt Lake City Launches bikeslc.com - Bike Dedicated Websitetweet the above site!..
Check out the Salt Lake City Transportation Division’s new bicycling website. Salt Lake City is committed to providing urban mobility through a diversity of transportation choices – including walking, bicycling, transit, and driving. Bicycling is an important part of our transportation system, and we hope you will find this website useful when you choose to go by bike.

In celebration of Utah Bike Month and National Bike to Work Week, Salt Lake City unveiled a new website, bikeslc.com, on Tuesday, May 15 in the Mayor’s Conference Room, Room 306, Salt Lake City & County Building, 451 S. State Street.
The event took place immediately following the Mayors' Bike to Work Ride (more information at http://www.slcgov.com/biketoworkday
The site will provide exciting new resources for those interested in either commuting or exploring the City by bike.
"The new website offers something for everyone," said Salt Lake City Bicycle/Pedestrian Coordinator Becka Roolf. "Salt Lake City has bicycling opportunities for cyclists of all skill levels, from commuters and recreational riders to hard-core mountain bikers or just families seeking quiet bike paths.  This website will give you what you need to  know to get out on two wheels and do it safely and comfortably."
The website also highlights several new, innovative projects recently constructed or soon to be underway in Salt Lake City including Utah’s first bicycle traffic signal at the south entrance to Liberty Park, a new bike turn box on Main Street at 200 South and the 300 East Protected Cycle Track Pilot Project to be constructed in June.

The site also offers a downloadable Salt Lake City Bikeways Map (PDF 3.6 MB), which helps connect locals and visitors with the City's urban environment and provides a valuable resource to experience the city while making more sustainable choices. The map shows bike routes, public transit, trail heads, sites of interest, farmers markets, local parks, open space, community gardens and many other places that highlight the local flavors that make Salt Lake City an internationally-recognized green city.
Also, as part of its increased focus on bicycle safety and in collaboration with statewide advocacy group Bike Utah, the City will host two new bicycle commuter pit stops on Friday morning, May 18.  The pitstops will provide snacks and safety resources to bicyclists on 200 South at 200 West and on 800 South at 600 East.
