More than 75 percent of Americans rely
on broadcast news sources for information about the presidential campaign.
Voters have had few ways to search these audio/video outlets for news and
topics that are critical to them until now. CampaignSearch.com
has gathered campaign-related video and audio files from a number of Web
sites: George Bush's and John Kerry's campaign Web sites, C-SPAN, PBS,
NPR and more. CampaignSearch.com uses complex Spoken-language-analysis
software created by StreamSage
to automatically identify the sections of audio/video news and speeches
that are relevant to a voter's interests.
Similar to Google's ability to search
web pages, StreamSage's system allows voters to search audio/video content
for specific keywords. The StreamSage software automatically segments content
into contextually relevant clips where those keywords are being discussed,
other key topics discussed in these sections, and the relative degree of
importance of each topic.
Indexed content currently comes from
these sources:
JohnKerry.com, GeorgeWBush.com, C-SPAN,
PBS, White House, WashingtonPost.com, UCTV, BBC, NPR, AP, 9/11 Commission,
Voice of America, MPR.
About StreamSage/CampaignSearch.com
StreamSage's AVSE is fully automated.
The software automatically "listens" to and then segments audio/video files.
StreamSage's applications employ pioneering research in computational linguistics,
artificial intelligence, machine learning and speech recognition. As a
result, the software can determine contextual relevance within media files
- a capability not possible when simply using a combination of speech-recognition
and text searching. StreamSage manufactures software to perform streaming
media searches. The software can be integrated into an organization's existing
infrastructure. StreamSage also provides technical support to organizations
or companies using its software. The companys search engine can ingest
many file formats, including mpegs, wav, smil, mp3 and others. Clip creation
is entirely automatic. StreamSage's AVSE determines content and relevance,
then segments larger files into clips based upon 'relevance intervals'
that are generated by the software's language-understanding technology.
