| The ZOOM Web site
has added two new games just in time for summer! “3
Puck Chuck,” found in the Games
section, is a new multi-player, multi-level Flash game of collision
and decision. It allows players to test their puck-chucking skills
by chucking, whacking, and smacking their way through seven levels—either
solo, or with a friend. “3
Ball Football,” transfers play from the virtual world to the physical.
Both games explore the application of Newton’s Laws of Motion and promise
a whack-smacking good time! |

The ZOOM Web site has added two

Puck Chuck,” found in the Games
section, is a new multi-player, multi-level Flash game of collision
and decision. It allows players to test their puck-chucking skills
by chucking, whacking, and smacking their way through seven levels—either
solo, or with a friend. “3
Ball Football,” listed under Sports Games in the ZOOMgames area of
Activities from the Show, transfers play from the virtual world to the
physical. Both games explore the application of Newton’s Laws of Motion
and promise a whack-smacking good time!
Players earn points by knocking
the goal puck into a target and opponent’s game pucks into traps. Obstacles
and varying surfaces cause players to account for Newton’s Laws of Motion
as they make the necessary adjustments to speed, direction, and physical
properties. A practice area introduces and isolates the science concepts
behind Newton’s Laws of Motion, explains how the game is played, and offers
the opportunity to practice techniques and experiment with different variables
used in game play.
By kids, for kids, ZOOM is a
daily, interactive television series and state-of-the-art Web site that
challenges five- to eleven-year-olds to “turn off the TV and do it!” Each
half-hour program features a cast of seven everyday kids playing games,
performing plays, tackling science experiments, telling stories, reading
poetry, solving brainteasers, whipping up recipes, and having a good time,
as they bring to life ideas sent in by viewers from across the country.
Kids can also interact with ZOOM via the Web at pbskids.org/zoom,
at ZOOMzone museum exhibits, and at ClubZOOM after-school programs nationwide.
WGBH Boston is America's preeminent
public broadcasting producer, the source of nearly one-third of PBS's primetime
lineup as well as the award-winning children's series Arthur, Between the
Lions, and ZOOM. Under the leadership of vice president Brigid Sullivan,
the WGBH children's lineup leads the field in educational multimedia (including
the Web, broadband, and interactive television) and in technologies and
services that make media accessible for people with disabilities. WGBH's
current children's series have been recognized with some of the world's
most prestigious awards, including 11 Emmys, the George Foster Peabody
award, three Prix Jeunesse awards, a BAFTA, and more than half a dozen
Parents' Choice awards. For more information, visit www.wgbh.org.

The URLwire
Effect:
"URLwire is
without question the most effective way to tell the right people in the
online world about your web site"
-- CoolShopping.com
My experience
with URLWire has been entirely positive.
I received
coverage (and links!) from key sites and in e-newsletters, one of which
had over 500,000 readers. Resulting traffic has been more than impressive.
URLwire
demonstrated
to me that it's the prime choice for announcing a web site. Edwin

"Eric, URLwire
got our site covered and linked online in places we'd tried for months
to get in without success. And, URLwire did it in one day.
