Student.com Radio brings a cutting-edge dimension to online social networking

Student.com, a leading community and social networking site for high school and college-age students has launched Student.com Radio, a commercial free, 24/7 online music station, which is accessible directly through the website at http://www.student.com/radio. Jeff Edelman, president, The Student Center, Inc., made the announcement.

Student.com Radio brings a new dimension to the social networking of the Student.com website. Already an interactive destination, Student.com users can now be active participants in the radio station.  DJs who hail from a variety of colleges serve up a blend of modern rock, alternative, and classic rock during prime time hours, with site users providing an added, integral element to the operation of the station. 

Song requests, playlist suggestions and dedications can be made in two ways by users, first via the standard chatrooms and forums and communicating directly with the DJs while they are on the air, or second, by recording voice clips of themselves with these dedications, song intros or even messages to others online and submitting those for play both during DJ airshifts or during non-DJ hours. The variety of options offers users the opportunity to become an active part of their music station in a new and unique way.
