Paintings include rarely seen works
from public and private collections, as well as many from the Museum's
extensive permanent collection. Featured is a remarkable selection of magazine
cover illustrations, story illustrations, and advertising art which reflects
Rockwell's artistic evolution, from fledgling professional to masterful

Highlights: Stockbridge
In 1953, the Rockwell family
moved to Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Here, Norman Rockwell continued his
work for The Saturday Evening Post and many other clients. Four years later,
the Rockwells purchased a home on South Street with a carriage barn, which
Rockwell renovated to be his "best studio yet." This studio and its contents
are preserved on the museum grounds.

Highlights: Vermont
After more than twenty years
in New Rochelle, Norman Rockwell needed a change of scene. In 1939, Norman
and Mary purchased a farmhouse with two barns, one to be renovated as a
studio, in the town of Arlington, Vermont and, within a year, decided to
move to Vermont permanently.

Highlights: New Rochelle
In the early years of the twentieth
century, New Rochelle, New York, was one of America's most important illustration
centers. Norman Rockwell moved with his parents to New Rochelle in 1913
and leased a studio in an office building on North Avenue. He lived in
New Rochelle for the better part of the next 29 years.

Highlights: Advertising
Norman Rockwell's early success
and popularity as an illustrator gained him celebrity status at a young
age. As a result, companies actively sought his talents to help advertise
their products.
Gallery
Highlights: The Four Freedoms
2003 marked the 60th anniversary
of Norman Rockwell's classic Four Freedoms series. These iconic paintings
firmly established Rockwell as a household name. On the site we take a
look at the history behind this patriotic series of images that inspired
a nation:

The URLwire
Effect:
"URLwire is
without question the most effective way to tell the right people in the
online world about your web site"
-- CoolShopping.com
My experience
with URLWire has been entirely positive.
I received
coverage (and links!) from key sites and in e-newsletters, one of which
had over 500,000 readers. Resulting traffic has been more than impressive.
URLwire
demonstrated
to me that it's the prime choice for announcing a web site. Edwin

"Eric, URLwire
got our site covered and linked online in places we'd tried for months
to get in without success. And, URLwire did it in one day.
