Akamai Technologies today announced
the Akamai
Net Usage Index for News, the world's first and only daily Web traffic
report with information on aggregate total visitors per minute to news
portal sites and from where in the world news is being consumed.
The index will track total visitors per minute from a pool of over 100
online news portals.
The Internet is generating a
major transformation in how the world learns of and follows news events.
Increasingly, the Internet is becoming the primary daily source of news
for a global audience. Akamai serves as the Web content delivery platform
for more than 100 global news sites and is unique in its ability to measure
aggregate online news consumption in real-time.
The Akamai Net Usage Index (www.akamai.com/netusageindex)
is updated every five minutes, and posts data for the analysis of trends
and shifts in news portal Web traffic during major news events. The index
shows:
-
Aggregate, real-time visitors per
minute for a representative set of over 100 global news portals
-

The URLwire
Effect:
"URLwire is
without question the most effective way to tell the right people in the
online world about your web site"
-- CoolShopping.com
My experience
with URLWire has been entirely positive.
I received
coverage (and links!) from key sites and in e-newsletters, one of which
had over 500,000 readers. Resulting traffic has been more than impressive.
URLwire
demonstrated
to me that it's the prime choice for announcing a web site. Edwin

"Eric, URLwire
got our site covered and linked online in places we'd tried for months
to get in without success. And, URLwire did it in one day.
