In the aftermath of September 11th, 2001, Americans nationwide -- and the world along with them -- have been searching for ways to heal. Thousands of people continue to visit the World Trade Center site each day to honor those whose lives were lost and to witness the rebuilding efforts now underway -- efforts marked by determination, resilience and hope. As part of the healing
process, Project Rebirth's cameras have been tracking day-by-day the rebuilding
activity at the WTC site. Since the six-month anniversary of September
11th, Project Rebirth's six 35mm, time-lapse motion picture cameras situated
around the site will continue to shoot one frame of film every five minutes,

In addition to the
multi-angled footage from Project Rebirth's time-lapse cameras, uploaded

"We are thrilled to support this visionary project and to help harness the unprecedented capability of the World Wide Web to bring the rebuilding at Ground Zero, in all its human and technological glory, to a global audience," said Doron Weber, Program Director, Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. "America Online is proud to support Project Rebirth and its mission to empower the public's understanding of September 11, 2001," said Rich D'Amato, Vice President for Community Investment at AOL. "Project Rebirth is making it possible to see and feel the impact of the rebuilding effort on the City of New York and giving us all a chance to feel that we are a part of it." In addition to support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and AOL, Project Rebirth's founding sponsor is the Aon Corporation, a leading provider of risk management services, insurance and reinsurance brokerage, human capital and management consulting, and specialty insurance underwriting. Aon had offices in the World Trade Center and has committed long-term support to the Project in memory of 175 employees whose lives were lost on Sept. 11, 2001. The project's principal sponsor is OppenheimerFunds. Committed to helping rebuild lower Manhattan, OppenheimerFunds returned its headquarters back downtown in 2003 after being displaced from the World Trade Center on September 11. Project Rebirth provides the Company with an opportunity to support an historic initiative that celebrates the rebirth and vitality of the world's greatest city, New York City. Kodak has donated film, and additional supporters include Ascent Media, Deluxe and Sunset Editorial. Project Rebirth
