Thursday, October 23, 2003 Amazon.com Launches "Search Inside the Book" Feature The new service allows you to search the full-text, over 33 million pages from over 120,000 titles
To try out the free service, go to http://www.Amazon.com or any Amazon search box,and then... Enter your search terms. Use quotation marks if searching for phrases. A list of all titles is returned, with some titles containing additional information and links. These appear right under the pricing information (look for the word "exceprt"). Click the link and you'll be shown a scanned image of the page with your search term highlighted, which you can then browse forward or backwards one page at a time by using the links above the scanned image. (Note that you have to be a registered Amazon.com custmer to access the full-text search feature) You can read more about the "Search Inside the Book" feature here.
