Vuitton handbags to trips and new vehicles. The site recently auctioned
a Sony Cybershot camera for $3.83, and the maximum price for a $60,000
2005 Nissan 350z is $720.
The most unique bid, not the
highest, wins the chance to buy the item at a discount. For example a product
with a retail price of $1000 would be sold under the Unique Auction hammer
for a maximum price of only $10. No bids can exceed the $10 maximum price
threshold and the highest unique bidder under $10 wins. "The site is totally
transparent, so everyone can see everyone else's bids, which allows you
to play a strategy game," adds UniqueAuction
CEO, Arif Mirza."
Since its launch last month
UniqueAuction already turned
over close to 3 million dollars in bids. The site makes its money from
the bid fee, and promotional fees paid by sponsors.
