In January 2006, Medicare beneficiaries
can begin receiving prescription drug coverage. Consumers Union has advice
on whether to sign up for the coverage, shopping for plans, fraud information
and what you can do to urge Congress to make the drug benefit more effective.
Beginning Nov. 15, Medicare
beneficiaries can begin signing up for a prescription drug plan. But its
a confusing decision with many different types of plans, deductibles
and coverage.
A new site at www.consumersunion.org/issues/medicaredrugs,
allows seniors to share their experience in obtaining Medicare Part D coverage.
The site offers information
about the new benefit, which begins in January 2006, and is Medicare's
single largest change in history. Many of Medicare's 40+ million
beneficiaries will now have to compare their current Rx coverage with the
new plans in order to identify which will be best for them.
The site also features an online
survey and consumers can leave comments describing their experience during
the six-month enrollment period, which starts Nov. 15. Some beneficiaries
without coverage should act fast, wheras others might want to wait for
the site to work out any bugs before making a decision.

The URLwire

"URLwire is
without question the most effective way to tell the right people in the
online world about your web site"
-- CoolShopping.com
My experience
with URLWire has been entirely positive.
I received
coverage (and links!) from key sites and in e-newsletters, one of which
had over 500,000 readers. Resulting traffic has been more than impressive.
URLwire
demonstrated
to me that it's the prime choice for announcing a web site. Edwin
