“We now have a web site that reflects the quality of our products,” said Stephen Pazyra, founder and president of 1-800-Bakery.com. “The changes are more than just cosmetic. We’ve done a lot to raise our level of customer service to the highest industry standards.”

“The basic usability of our site was never in question,” added Senior Producer Derek Gerry. “What was missing were the opportunities to get all the relevant information in front of our customers, without them having to look through a bunch of pages.”

The redesigned site presents customer service links on every page, enhanced shipping information and larger, crisper product images. A new color scheme provides a warm and appetizing environment. The overall tone of the site has also been changed to reflect Pazyra’s personal approach to the business.

Behind the scenes, a new on-site search engine technology tracks the keywords that customers use to find products. “We can see how often certain keywords are typed, and whether or not they match anything,” Pazyra explained. “With that information, we’ll know what to add to our catalog.”

The site was redesigned and enhanced with the help of b2services Inc., which also provides Web hosting and technical services for 1-800-Bakery.com.
