Six year AOL veteran "Decision Point" Offers Major Technical Analysis
For nearly six years Decision Point has provided what users describe as "the best investor resource for technical analysis materials in cyberspace". Now a significant portion of Decision Point offerings are available free on a new web site <http://www.decisionpoint.com>.
For serious technicians there are Historical Charts of market indexes
and indicators, some like the Advance-Decline Line going back as
far as 1926. Some indicators are proprietary and some are widely followed.
All are updated daily and are available free in the Daily Charts area.
Another feature is the Chart Spotlite, which features sample analysis
on interesting stocks, mutual funds, indexes, and industry groups -- a
new chart is added almost every business day.
Decision Point is a veteran in the online business. First launching on AOL in July 1992, it has become one of the most popular investor areas on AOL, welcoming approximately 100,000 visitors generating over one million hits each month. "This level of popularity for material, that is normally considered a bit esoteric for the average investor, reflects the effort we have made to give the subject of technical analysis broad appeal and to make it accessible to those who might not otherwise be exposed to it," said Carl Swenlin, founder and president of Decision Point. "Technical analysis is a powerful tool that can be used in addition to fundamental analysis to assist in investment decision-making and to optimize entry and exit points. Our materials can help both the novice and experienced technician. We have been doing this online longer than almost anybody, and I think we still do it better. We plan to maintain our AOL presence, but would like to extend our reach to the other 80 or 90 percent of the online audience."
All of Decision Point's materials and products are designed exclusively for electronic distribution, a must for investors who want their information soon after the market closes and not the next morning in the newspaper. Daily index/indicator charts can also be downloaded in a zipped bundle of GIF files for off-line perusal.
One of the most unique offerings is the E-Z Print Chart Book which is available for free download from the site each Friday evening. In MS Excel format this file contains a macro that prints about 50 pages of charts of the Dow 65 stocks, S&P 100 stocks and 160 mutual funds. The result is an up-to- date chart book with over 300 charts of a solid list of blue chip stocks, growth funds, and sector funds ready for weekend review.
Also available on the site are a variety of subscription products, incuding:
