Indie Film Community Launched At CinemaNow.com

CinemaNow is majority owned by Trimark Pictures, making it the first online community for film enthusiasts that is supported by a major independent studio.  As a result of its relationship with Trimark, CinemaNow offers unique access to the resources of an independent production company including: the ability to directly distribute theatrical and short films to viewers via streaming video technology; direct access to production resources and networking opportunities which aid independent filmmakers; and a pathway from online film distribution to theatrical, television and video distribution.

CinemaNow is majority backed by Trimark Holdings.   Technology partners include Microsoft (Windows Media Player), iBeam (video encoding), Loud-Eye, and Vidnet.
The CinemaNow site integrates streaming video content with indie filmmaker resources.  There are two main areas on the site: "Watch CinemaNow" and "Make CinemaNow."

"Watch CinemaNow" distributes content to independent film enthusiasts, including films ramped-up from "Make CinemaNow" via on-site contests.  As well as short films, CinemaNow streams quality feature-length films that have already generated millions of dollars in revenue through theatrical and video release.

"Make CinemaNow" provides indie filmmakers with information, networking resources, and distribution opportunities.  Individual web pages on the site give users access to an ever-expanding, interactive database of film talent.  A crucial element in film production - the acquisition and unification of talent - will be facilitated for filmmakers through CinemaNow's film community.

CinemaNow has leveraged its relationship with Trimark to gain exclusive Internet distribution rights to the Trimark film library.  In addition, CinemaNow has exclusively acquired a 400 film library of Hong Kong films from distributor Tai Seng Home Video, including films from influential, cult fave directors such as Yuen Wo Ping.  Wo Ping launched the careers of Jackie Chan and Jet Li, as well as influenced the directing styles of renowned Hong Kong directors John Woo, Tsui Hark, and Ringo Lam

CinemaNow is aggressively building its library through the acquisition of third-party independent films.
While competing sites must focus heavily on finding content to acquire and launch, CinemaNow already has in its library a robust collection of genre and art-house films for online distribution.

Young, independent filmmakers and their audiences. This segment of the population - traditionally, a
fragmented niche audience - now has the means for direct dialogue and contact through the Internet.

CinemaNow is majority backed by Trimark Holdings.   Technology partners include Microsoft (Windows Media Player), iBeam (video encoding), Loud-Eye, and Vidnet.   Revenue is driven by on-line advertisers, merchandising, premium memberships, and the licensing of site content to  primary and ancillary markets. Distribution and marketing is effectively targeted at viewers through user profiles; a capability of internet technology previously unfeasible through conventional
film distribution.

CinemaNow, Inc. is a California corporation headquartered in the Trimark complex in Marina del Rey. CEO Curt Marvis brings an impressive resume of experience in the television, music, interactive and
online arenas.  Marvis first made his mark as CEO of The Company, producing some of the most popular videos and concerts in the history of MTV for artists including Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Janet Jackson, Bon Jovi, and others too numerous to mention.  Marvis capitalized on his success on MTV by co-founding multimedia start-up Powerhouse Entertainment.  Joining publicly held 7th Level in 1998 (now Learn2.com), he helped reinvent the company as an online learning and communications leader.

Executive Vice President Bruce Eisen has a history in all aspects of the film entertainment industry, from heading up the Legal/ Business Affairs Department for Trimark to writing and producing films.  Eisen most recently served as senior vice president of Trimark's Production/ Business Affairs Department, overseeing the company's legal and business affairs and production negotiations.  In his former position as Vice President of Legal/ Business Affairs, Eisen negotiated with all of the major Hollywood talent and craft guilds.
