"At its launch, the eNature website has by far the most extensive coverage of nature on the web, carefully designed to make all of it easily accessible. We expect this site to be of tremendous interest to the millions of Americans who are active in nature related activities."
-- Andrew Stewart, founder eNature
The subjects covered in more than 10,000 web pages include birds, butterflies, mammals, fishes, reptiles, amphibians, insects, seashells, wildflowers, trees, and more, plus in-depth coverage of the natural habitats of the U.S. and Canada. This content is derived from the best-selling Audubon Field Guide books created by Chanticleer Press and published by Knopf/Random House, which have sold more than 20 million copies.

eNature will appeal to the 62.9 million Americans (31% of the U.S. population over 16 years old) who participate in a variety of wildlife watching activities, such as bird-watching and wildlife photography, including 23.7 million people who travel for the primary purpose of wildlife-watching, and spent more than $29 billion on wildlife watching in 1996.  (Report of U.S. Dept of the Interior, 1996).

Visitors to the site can become members and receive free newsletters, create their own lifelists of species they have seen, send postcards to friends and families using the exceptional collection of nature photographs on the site, and share their own nature experiences through message boards. In coming months eNature.com will add a complete guide to national and local parks and outdoor attractions, so that users can print out their own local guides to plants, animals and the local habitat, with maps, trails and local facilities, and take it along on a weekend outing or vacation.

This encyclopedic content will be coupled with extensive daily coverage of news of the natural world, reports from remote research sites on new discoveries, webcam visits to exciting natural places and events, and features and photos on the fascinating facts and findings of amateur and professional naturalists.

Founder Andrew Stewart, said: "At its launch, the eNature website has by far the most extensive coverage of nature on the web, carefully designed to make all of it easily accessible. We expect this site to be of tremendous interest to the millions of Americans who are active in nature related activities."
ENature.com will partner with other nature and wildlife organizations local, national and international to create a single destination for web visitors who want to find out what is happening everywhere in the world of nature.  The site contents and community features will also be distributed through partner sites that lack extensive nature resources and want to serve this high-quality audience. The site will feature exciting sponsorship opportunities for advertisers and merchandisers seeking to reach this web-oriented audience.

Through opt-in membership features, an extensive database of information will be developed for targeting offers of interest to members.  Online store and ecommerce areas will provide product and service sales opportunities for outdoor equipment, apparel, travel, health, financial, sports, sports
utility vehicle, and other merchandisers who want to tap the purchasing power of these active consumers.
