Wedding Site From AOL Aims For Web Success
Element Studios has announced it will launch its successful wedding brand The Knot: Weddings For The Real World on the World Wide Web [ http://www.theknot.com ], making it the only wedding resource on both America Online and the Web, and the most comprehensive wedding media property overall. With its expansion onto the Web, Element will bring the independent, humorous, real-world tone and community it has created on its AOL channel to the Web, along with even more daily-changing editorial content and new functional planning tools.
The Knot on the Web is comprised of ten feature channels including new areas dedicated to grooms, guests and bridesmaids. The Web site allows its users to take advantage of the Web's functionality by featuring proprietary wedding planning tools, including the "Big Day Budgeter" and the "Countdown Calendar," which stores personalized information for users to refer to and build upon throughout the planning process. The Web version is designed to allow to-be-weds to store profile information, their wedding date, and even wedding guest travel suggestions that can be continuously updated. Users can also elect to give guests a password to allow anyone involved with the wedding access to private announcements and updates.
