MyMP3Storage, http://www.mymp3storage.com, introduced the first Internet service dedicated to the free online storage, retrieval and sharing of MP3 music files.

Christopher Sandner, co-developer of the site, explained, "Fifty Megabytes of free storage is enough to store more music than is found on a typical CD. Collectors of MP3 files are constantly adding to their collections. MP3 files require considerable space, and collectors are constantly on the go between home, school and work.  Many collectors compete with friends to decide who compiles the best playlists."

"With MyMP3Storage, music fans can store their newly acquired files, retrieve them from anywhere, and share their files with friends. Or they can use the service to keep their files private and away from others who use their computer." He concluded, "If a user wants to store other types of files, such as documents, spreadsheets and graphic files, they can click on the FreeDrive link on the site and sign up for 20 meg. of free Internet file storage."

MyMP3Storage is a private service offered by Nextec Communications Corp., a private company located in Chicago, IL that is dedicated to enhancing the online experience of MP3 fans worldwide. The site is advertising supported, and subscribers to the free service agree to receive e-mail promotions exclusively related to items in which they have expressed a personal interest. The service is fast and reliable and hosted on multiple servers at the GTE/BBN Air Connectivities Center in Chicago. Oracle database technology and 10 mb of bandwidth assures the fastest uploads and downloads available anywhere.

This is a private Web-based version of Eric Ward's URLwire. URLwire is a low frequency E-mail news alert service which covers significant Web launches, events, and online happenings, and is sent only to writers, reporters, Web guide editors, and site reviewers who earn a living covering the high end of the Web. It is matched personally by me to your subject interests, not automated, and importantly, not annoying. Send your exact subject interests to: Eric@urlwire.com (Voice 423.637.2438).
