"Nobody is poised to serve this market better than Barnes & Noble.com," said Steve Riggio, vice chairman of Barnes & Noble.com. "The Barnes & Noble name has been associated with education and college bookselling for decades, so this is perhaps the most natural product extension of all for us.

Our huge in-stock inventory will enable us to do that. Best of all, we have a large selection of used textbooks, with savings of up to 25 percent.'' 

The Textbook Store is designed to make shopping easy. Searching for textbooks by title, author, keyword or ISBN is made possible by the company's powerful proprietary search engine. In addition, customers can browse the Textbook Store by subject, which organizes titles by area of academic
discipline. For example, customers can browse books on subjects such as forestry, plant breeding and genetics, police supervision and management, applied psychology or early childhood education. The site also features book lists from dozens of the top colleges and universities across the country, making it easy for students to view their course adoptions in one convenient place.
