MyRatePlan.com Launches Online Credit Card Optimizer
MyRatePlan.com is an online consumer reference site that gives unbiased evaluation of a variety of household services.  Today they launched a new consumer tool, the MyRatePlan.com Credit Card Optimizer.  This new free online software enables people to better manage their card portfolios, and minimize the interest cost of financing purchases.   http://www.myrateplan.com

"Credit cards are almost a necessity in today's economy, but can be a very expensive way to fund purchases. The intent of our tool is not to discourage credit card acquisition or use, but to help consumers take advantage of the best offers available to them in a highly competitive issuer market."

 -- Allan Keiter
President of MyRatePlan.com
One need only go out to the mailbox to see why these tools will be helpful.  The offers seem to come every day:  "0% for 3 months", "2.99% for 6 months", "2% cash back".  Colorful brochures that entice us to add to the 500 million plus credit cards outstanding in the United States.  Great dealsÂ…until the "teaser" period runs out.  Overnight, your interest rate can climb to 15%, 20% or more, and that $2,000 big screen TV you bought ends up costing you $3,000 by the time you pay it off.

With the launch of this new section of our Site, MyRatePlan offers the following consumer tools:

  • Software to optimize payments, and minimize interest when the consumer is financing purchases
  • Recommendations on each card in the user's portfolio
  • Content on how to evaluate a credit card offer
  • A primer on what type of card is best for the consumer's spending habits.
"Credit cards are almost a necessity in today's economy, but can be a very expensive way to fund purchases," said Allan Keiter, President of MyRatePlan.com.  "The intent of our tool is not to discourage credit card acquisition or use, but to help consumers take advantage of the best offers available to them in a highly competitive issuer market."

MyRatePlan.com (http://www.myrateplan.com) is an Atlanta-based developer of rate optimization software that makes it easier for consumers to evaluate and select among service providers for online purchase.  The software is delivered directly to consumers via the Internet, or indirectly, with MyRatePlan functioning as an Application Service Provider (ASP), by carriers and retailers that want to offer a more informed online shopping experience for their prospective customers.
