Intuitive Launches Etymologic.com Word Game

Etymologic - http://www.etymologic.com
etymologic.com is a Web-based word origin game produced by Silicon Valley consulting firm Intuitive Systems.

Intuitive Systems today introducted ETYMOLOGIC, the toughest word game on the Web.  Built around puzzling and usually surprising word origin questions, ETYMOLOGIC is fun and always informative and educational.  The word game can be found at http://www.etymologic.com

"Too much of what's on the Web is a waste of time, particularly for kids." Dave Taylor, creator of ETYMOLOGIC and president of Intuitive Systems, comments, "I wanted to create a web site that'd be appropriate for the 6th-12th grade audience, and be equally compelling for the rest of the online community."

In the game, users are presented with 10 randomly selected word origin or word definition puzzles to solve; in each case the word or phrase is highlighted in bold, and a number of possible answers will be presented. You need to choose the correct answer to score a point for that question. Beware: the false answers will often also seem quite plausible, and some of the true answers are hard to believe, but they are all researched and accurate.

Intuitive Systems (http://www.intuitive.com) is a Silicon Valley-based consulting firm offering strategic and tactical assistance to Internet startups.
