SmallBusinessDepot.com Helps Small Businesses Find and Win Corporate and Government Contracts

Based on the results of 4,800 interviews of small business owners and managers throughout North America, SmallBusinessDepot Inc., has created and launched its new web site, http://www.smallbusinessdepot.com.  The site’s primary focus is to help small businesses generate new business through corporate and government contract opportunities.
Using an exclusive, tested search program, this unique online service scans hundreds of government web sites every day for Requests For Proposals (RFPs), and matches those contract opportunities to individual client profiles. SmallBusinessDepot.com’s proprietary system then forwards those opportunities immediately, via email or fax, to each matching small business customer.

The site’s primary focus is to help small businesses generate new business through corporate and government contract opportunities

SmallBusinessDepot’s survey findings identified three major reasons why fewer than 3% of all eligible companies currently participate in the $40 billion federal government contracting arena: lack of resources to identify and win contracts, not knowing the key factors needed to win, and a feeling that government does not “speak their language”.

“That led us to create a site that addresses all three issues and makes it far easier for companies from five to 150 employees to participate in this marketplace profitably,” says Donald P. Mazzella, SmallBusinessDepot’s president.  “First, we reduced our customers’ search time each month from hours to minutes.  Instead of our clients doing the searching, we maintain their individual profiles and examine a wide number of sites for them, every day.”

“Then, if a client is interested in a project and asks for the RFP, our program not only forwards it, but sends the client an abstract of key words from the request document, and reminds the client of what should be included in the reply.  We match not only words but concepts in this process,” Mazzella added.

SmallBusinessDepot’s current products include ‘Contract Monitor” and ‘Corporate Contracts’. The former is a subscription-based service that helps small businesses register as government contractors, offers individualized online help in filling out Request for Proposals, notifies businesses of RFPs that match their stated criteria, and supports efforts to negotiate and complete the contract.

The second service, ‘Corporate Contracts,’ allows large corporations looking for small business suppliers and vendors to search SmallBusinessDepot’s extensive database of small businesses. Once a corporation finds a match, they will contact the identified company directly. This service is free to small businesses.

Strategic programs have so far been established with Bell Atlantic and IBM, which will help position SmallBusinessDepot as an essential focal point for small businesses.

SmallBusinessDepot is located in Wheaton, Maryland.  For additional information on SmallBusinessDepot or the products they offer, visit the web site at http://www.smallbusinessdepot.com, or call or (301) 962-7400.
